sematicon AG has successfully completed the external recertification for the international standard for information security management DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001. The renewed certification confirms the commitment of the management and employees to the highest standards in the areas of information security and data protection.
The DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001 certification is an internationally recognized standard for information security. It relates to the introduction, implementation, monitoring and documentation of an information security management system (ISMS).
Companies only receive certification if the following points, among others, are fulfilled:
- Assured availability of IT systems and processes
- Confidential handling of information
- Minimize IT risks, potential damage and consequential costs
- Organizational measures
- Technical measures
- Ensuring compliance requirements are met
- Systematic detection and elimination of vulnerabilities
- Control of IT risks
Successful recertification for ISO 27001 is not a foregone conclusion. It requires a dedicated team that is continuously committed to compliance with the standards. This includes regular internal audits, staff training, reviewing and updating policies and procedures and working with external auditors.
The Management Board members Michael Walser and André Neumann expressed their delight at the successful recertification and emphasized the importance of these standards for the company and its stakeholders. Mr. Neumann (COO) emphasized in particular that ISO 27001 is crucial for a robust information security strategy, especially in today’s world where cyber security threats are becoming increasingly complex.
